1. Traditionally, Thanksgiving has been a four day weekend for working people, but this is not as true as it used to be. Many businesses, including offices, service industries and retail stores require employees to return to work on the Friday after Thanksgiving. Do not assume that everyone will be able to travel on this holiday weekend. Consider the availability of the guests closest to the bride and groom when planning the wedding day.

Send out an announcement or write guests individually to let them know that an invitation will be forthcoming, so that they can save the date and make necessary advance plans.
