With the announcement of Pantone’s 2014 color pallet, I thought it would be a great idea to find some wonderfully inspiring photos that create the look and feel you would see at a wedding or event that used their star color “Radiant Orchid”.

The hue is sophisticated and fun while allowing you to highlight other accent colors.

Which is your favorite?

Chartreuse Wedding Couture

Chartreuse is an unexpected and clever color scheme for a wedding. Halfway between yellow and green, chartreuse was introduced in 1764 by the French because of it’s resemblance to the green color of one of the liqueurs known as green chartreuse.

It is possible to create a luxuriously vibrant wedding using this bold fun color if you think outside the box.

This lightly ombre effect couture gown will certainly help your bridesmaids cause a stir when they enter the room. Pair it with an equally bold pair of lace up wedges for a refined finished look.

For a more toned down, yet still couture vibe, try using chartreuse as the focal color for your Bridesmaids and Groomsmen. Keep the accessories to a minimum, or opt out of using them all together. chartreuse-collage

To continue the opulent couture into the ball room, have your floral artist create a table scape of chartreuse hydrangea accented with hand painted votives. Then dance the night away in style!

A Glamorous Barn Wedding

We don’t usually think of a wedding and a barn in the same breath.  After all a wedding is a time to celebrate, get dressed up and take a bunch of photos during the process.  So why would we think of a barn?  Isn’t that a place where animals live and sleep? Doesn’t it smell musty and need to be cleaned on an hourly basis?  How on earth would you turn it into a wonderland worthy of a glamorous celebration.

We asked ourselves the same question. Then we found a Bride who did exactly that.

You might expect to see burlap and twine as accent decor, but this couple wanted a more royal feel to their special day.  They were able to acheive that by adding accents of gold and soft touches of hand embroidered lace on the table linen.

The draperies created a soft romantic feel to the barn, and masked the hard cold edges of the open stall doors.

Everything tied wonderfully into the barn.  So much so, that we found we hardly noticed it. What do you think? Would you get married in a barn?
